Medical Laboratory Scientist / Technician Float

About the role

Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. Follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met.

Responsibilities

• Collect laboratory specimens, as needed.
• Process lab specimens and perform clinical laboratory testing, including manual and automated methods, in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate skill in use of equipment relevant to position.
• Demonstrate critical and independent judgement in decision-making and problem-solving.
• Demonstrate personal commitment to the principles, values, and ethics of the organization to promote a positive work environment.
• Serve as a laboratory resource.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Medical Laboratory Technician: Associates degree in Laboratory Science required. National certification for MLT or CLT required.
• Medical Laboratory Scientist: Bachelors degree in laboratory or biological sciences required. National certification for MLS required.

Qualifications

• Medical Laboratory Technician: Possess a national certification for MLT or CLT through an approved HHS agency, or be registry eligible.
• Medical Laboratory Scientist: Possess a national certification for MLS through an approved HHS agency, or be registry eligible.

Skills

• Knowledge of medical laboratory techniques and procedures.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

$22.50 - $44.00 per hour
