Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLT, MLS) - (Per Diem)

About the role

The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) at Windham Hospital performs, interprets, and correlates clinical laboratory tests by following protocols to assist in the physician diagnosis and treatment of illness and disease. They are expected to utilize complex problem-solving skills in resolving clinical and instrument problems.

Responsibilities

• Performs, interprets, and correlates clinical laboratory tests
• Aids in the physician diagnosis and treatment of illness and disease
• Solves clinical and instrument problems using complex problem-solving skills

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university with 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) in biology including one semester in microbiology and 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) in chemistry including one semester in organic or biochemistry
• Certified or eligible for categorical certification in medical technology by a recognized certifying body after one year of on-the-job experience
• Adopts H3W Leadership behaviors and becomes a strong H3W ambassador
• Exhibits excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal, written and listening) skills and good leadership abilities
• Complies with OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements by following established procedures to maintain a safe laboratory environment and meet accreditation standards
