About the role

MRIGlobal is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (PRN / Temporary Part-Time) to support a client program involving microbiological testing and MALDI-TOF analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform microbiology, molecular biology, and related laboratory testing in accordance with established protocols and client requirements.
  • Prepare samples, process cultures, perform MALDI-TOF analysis, and verify results while maintaining data quality and scientific integrity.
  • Analyze and document laboratory data, prepare technical summaries, and maintain accurate scientific records.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and support laboratory readiness.
  • Follow laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while working independently and collaboratively with technical teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific field.
  • Current Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification through ASCP or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of microbiology laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and data analysis.
  • Ability to perform laboratory testing accurately and maintain detailed scientific records.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Experience with MALDI-TOF analysis preferred.
  • Experience with client-specific laboratory protocols preferred.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with laboratory equipment and software.

Pay

$30 - $45 hourly

Schedule

This is a temporary, hourly position expected to support project needs for approximately 18 weeks, primarily on weekends with limited weekday hours as needed.
