About the role

The Medical Laboratory Scientist II, whether in the role of Testing Personnel or General Supervisor, plays a crucial role in the diagnostic and therapeutic processes. This position involves performing various types of laboratory tests, ensuring accuracy and efficiency, and providing oversight to laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

  • Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and record keeping.
  • Maintain records demonstrating proficiency testing samples are handled and analyzed similarly to patient samples.
  • Adhere to quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance.
  • Correct deviations from performance specifications or report issues to supervisors.
  • Supervise assigned workstations, including Quality Control (QC) review, training, competency assessment of staff, and inventory management.
  • Perform specimen processing, test analysis, and reporting results independently.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as CLIA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
  • Clinical Laboratory Sciences certification from ASCP-BOC.
  • Experience in a clinical laboratory setting, preferably 1-2 years.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment and its operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Medical Technologist (ASCP) certification.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Basic knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation requirements.

Pay

$26.63 - $38.70/Hourly

Schedule

Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
