Medical Laboratory Scientist I

Responsibilities
- Perform high-complexity testing in immunohematology, including antibody identification, antigen typing, absorptions, elution, and crossmatch (Reference Lab).
- Perform production, processing, and labeling of blood components and blood donations (Manufacturing Lab).
- Provide technical support to hospital transfusion services.
- Review and report test results, participate in investigative studies, quality control, preventative maintenance, and validations.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent (must receive MLS certification within 6 months of eligibility).
- OR Bachelor’s degree in an approved science (Biology, Chemistry, etc.) and currently possess certification from an accredited agency as MT/MLS.
- OR State licensure as required by regulations.
- 0–2 years of relevant laboratory experience meeting Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist educational requirements.
- OR 5+ years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, medical technology, or clinical laboratory science, or equivalent education, training, and/or experience with certification as a Medical Technologist by a recognized certifying agency.
- Medical Laboratory Technician with an Associate’s degree with experience in high-complexity testing and meets state licensure-defined criteria.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist/MLS/BB by a recognized certifying agency (or must receive certification within 12 months).

Pay
Hourly pay: $35.39 (Grade 118). Shift differentials apply: 9% for second shift, 14% for third shift, and 8% for weekend shifts.
Schedule
Wednesday – Saturday, 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM (Shift 2).
