About the role

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a lab tech to work full-time days in the Flow Cytometry Lab. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available for qualified candidates.

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a 525-bed tertiary care facility and the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads. It serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School and is home to Sentara Heart Hospital, Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance, and specialized services including a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Magnet-recognized nursing excellence, and a state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit. The hospital specializes in heart and vascular care, neurosciences, neurosurgery, urology, oncology, spine care, advanced imaging, behavioral health, maternity, and women’s health.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests
• Interpret and document results
• Report results
• Maintain department equipment, instruments, and tools

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or Biology/Chemical Science
• ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification
• Eligible for certification
