Medical Laboratory Scientist

About the role

Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for several Medical Lab Scientist positions at a diagnostic lab in the NW Dallas area. As a part of the laboratory operations team, you'll play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and integrity while meeting the needs of the company’s patients.

Responsibilities

  • Specimen handling, processing, testing, and reporting of patient results following approved laboratory procedures
  • Review and release test results accurately and efficiently
  • Follow established laboratory policies when test systems fall outside acceptable performance levels
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues affecting test performance or result reporting
  • Communicate issues to senior technologists or supervisors as necessary
  • Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines
  • Maintain records demonstrating proficiency testing for patient specimens

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or related discipline is required
  • Degree plan MUST include 25 credit hours of Chemistry to include 1 Analytical Chemistry/Instrumental Analysis type course (transcripts will be required)
  • 1 year of clinical experience in a CLIA certified lab is also a MUST requirement

Qualifications

A BS/BA degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or related discipline and 1 year of clinical experience in a CLIA certified lab are required. The degree plan must include 25 credit hours of Chemistry, including 1 Analytical Chemistry/Instrumental Analysis type course.

Pay

Compensation range: $60-70K, with a $5000 Sign On Bonus/Relocation Available.

Schedule

Multiple 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts are available, which usually involve working 1 day on the weekends. Training will be on the day shift and then you will transition to your assigned shift after completing the training.
