Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Bachelor’s or Associates Degree program in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
  • Experience preferred, but not a must
  • Currently licensed and in good standing (or eligible to be by start date) by Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners
  • Certified by a qualified agency (ASCP/NCA/AMT), maintaining requirements
  • Pass basic background check for criminal history, OIG, etc.
  • Must be able to work 2 hours or less on every 3rd Saturday

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for specimen processing, laboratory test performance, and reporting test results
  • Maintain proficiency in specimen handling and processing, as well as quality control policies
  • Follow laboratory’s policies for testing, maintenance, quality control, and corrective action
  • Identify and address issues affecting test performance or reporting
  • Show strong attention to detail
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned by the Lab Manager
