About the role

We are seeking a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) to join our team at Wythe County Community Hospital. As a member of our small but highly motivated laboratory, you will contribute to accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and overall patient well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine laboratory tests in various sections of the laboratory.
  • Uses the laboratory information system to register patients, enter test orders, and report test results to providers.

Requirements

Applicants should have an associates degree in Medical Technology or related science or have equivalent education and experience as defined by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988. Certification as a medical laboratory technician is preferred.

Knowledge and skill to operate standard office machinery. Must have knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to perform laboratory functions in the essential areas of chemistry, coagulation, hematology, immunology, microbiology, clinical microscopy and transfusion medicine.

Qualifications

Experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.

Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Hourly range $20.56- $27.75
