Medical Lab Technician (MLT) PRN

About the role

As a Medical Lab Technician joining our team, you're embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier. You will perform moderate to high complex testing and waived testing procedures, report test results, and contribute to the overall functioning of our laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate to high complex testing and waived testing procedures and report test results.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Perform quality control testing.
• Maintain supplies needed for performance of tests.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures and drug screen collections according to policy and procedure.
• Accurately register client samples, results with comments, order tests, cancel, and add tests as required.
• Participate in Handle with Care training annually or CPI participation every 2 years.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Science (May be grandfathered in with Certification or Diploma).
• ASCP (MLT) Certification required.
• TN MLT license preferred but not required.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Completion of a 50-week US Military Medical Lab training course and a minimum of two (2) years of experience is accepted in lieu of education.
