Main Responsibilities
- Perform lab tests with precision and accuracy paying close attention to detail
- Prepares specimens for microscope examination
- Performs procedures such as CBC (Complete Blood Count), Urinalysis, and Acute Care Kit testing
- Inputs results in computer and reports results to other Health Care Team members in an accurate and timely manner
- Performs phlebotomy and collects specimens for testing and works with patients of all ages and development levels
- Maintains safety and infection control standards
- Maintains a high standard of performance, quality control, calibration, testing, and reporting of results
- Maintains equipment operation
- Stocks/order lab supplies as needed
- Maintains confidentiality in matters relating to patients and testing results
- Maintains levels of quality that meet or exceed customer expectations through process improvement and a team oriented approach
Education/Experience/Knowledge
- Graduation from an accredited MLT program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology
- Licensed Phlebotomist
- Previous Phlebotomy experience a plus
- 1 – 3 years MLT experience
- Ability to work under pressure
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong Customer Service Skills and a friendly attitude
