Medical Lab Scientist II

Responsibilities

• Maintaining expertise and performing technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in one or more laboratory sections.
• Maintaining records of performance as defined in the laboratory's general and sectional policy and procedure manuals.
• Maintaining records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals.
• Instructing new employees and students.
• Serving as Charge Technologist in the absence of other lab supervisors or MTs.
• Rotating within different areas of the lab and sharpening skills within each specialty.

Requirements

• Candidates licensed prior to 1997 are not required to have certification per the State of Florida Licensure rules.
• 2 years Medical Technologist Experience.
• Education & Credential Requirements:
• Associate of Science Required.
• Bachelor of Science (non-Nursing) Preferred.
• Certified Medical Technologist (MT) Preferred.
• Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Preferred.
• Licensed Medical Technologist Required.
• Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technician Required.
