Medical Lab Scientist - Sign-On Bonus

Role Overview: This position involves applying advanced technical knowledge in laboratory testing, ensuring clinical relevance, and troubleshooting complex problems. It serves as a resource within the department, assisting with compliance to regulatory and accreditation standards such as CLIA, JCAHO, CAP, and OSHA. Responsibilities may include specimen collection, receipt, and processing. Key Responsibilities: Perform high-level testing, maintain compliance with regulations, handle biological specimens, and support department operations. Adhere to policies, procedures, and professional standards in all functions. Physical Environment & Skills: Candidates must be able to stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 75 pounds, with manual dexterity and awareness of hazards. Strong reading, writing, math, communication, organizational, and computer skills are essential. Customer service skills and the ability to follow instructions are required. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, chemical, or biological sciences, with certification or completion documentation, is required. Foreign credentials must be evaluated. Experience in phlebotomy and knowledge of specimen handling and medical terminology are preferred. Preferred Skills: Certification (ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB), prior phlebotomy experience, and additional related education or experience enhance candidacy.
