Medical Lab Scientist - Part Time - PRN
Job Description
Performs clinical laboratory testing aiding the physician in the crucial role of detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases.
Skills And Abilities
- Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
- Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment and telephones
- Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
- Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
- Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
- Maintains high level organizational skills including ability to multi-task and critically think

Education/Certifications/Licenses/Degrees
- Minimally must meet current qualifications listed under section “Clinical Laboratory Personnel Requirements” defined in the federal Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments Act of 1988 (CLIA-88) and Oregon Department of Human Services Regulations
- College of American Pathologists (CAP) and Joint Commission standards
- Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science (Copy of academic degree or transcript will be required upon hire)
Experience
Working knowledge of, but not limited to: LIS and HIS computer systems, specialized automated analyzers, centrifuges, pipettors, microscopes and Pevco pneumatic system

Physical/Mental/Environmental Requirements
- Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently
- May be required to lift up to 40 pounds
- Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and body fluids
- Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone
- Requires frequent use of personal computer
Compensation
Minimum $38.66 USD, Maximum $57.38 USD (This represents the rate for an individual with significant experience in this job)
