About the Role
Independently performs laboratory procedures for which the technologist has been trained and demonstrated competency. Conducts laboratory testing on patients of all ages using professional knowledge of laboratory procedures, executing, interpreting, and analyzing results in an accurate and timely manner.

Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) plus sufficient college and/or technical school courses and clinical training to satisfy certification requirements as a medical technologist by an approved certifying agency Required.
- Bachelor's Degree in clinical laboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology, or a life/biological science (e.g., biology, biochemistry, microbiology) Preferred.
Work Experience
- No experience Required.
- 1 year of supervised clinical experience as a medical technologist in a clinical laboratory Preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists), or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) Required upon hire (per State of Georgia Department of Community Health regulations).
- Temporary classification as a technologist or technician for eighteen (18) months is allowed for individuals who recently moved to Georgia or completed academic/training requirements, providing time to complete an approved qualifying examination Required within 1.5 years.
- AAB provisional certification is not accepted.
