MEDICAL LAB SCIENTIST (MLS)

About the role

Medical laboratory scientists perform medical laboratory tests and procedures to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease as ordered by a physician.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper patient and specimen identification
• Oversee quality control evaluation, supply management, and proper maintenance of analyzers and data
• Demonstrate competency, knowledge and skills necessary to interact with and advocate for patients
• Work closely with clinicians to provide the best diagnostic information
• Strive to provide the highest quality patient services following established and accepted techniques
• Establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, colleagues, and members of the community
