Medical Lab Scientist II, Baptist South

About the role

Baptist Health is a locally governed, faith-based, not-for-profit health system in Northeast Florida. They are Jacksonville's only health system and provide comprehensive care through multiple locations and six hospitals. Baptist South is part of this system, serving the growing neighborhoods in southern Duval and northern St. Johns' counties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise and perform technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in laboratory areas.
• Maintain records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals.
• Supervise by Director and Section Supervisors; can perform all responsibilities without on-site supervision.
• Serve as General Supervisor and Charge Technologist in the absence of other lab supervisors or MTs.
• Instruct new employees and students.

Requirements

• Hold a valid Medical Technologist - Generalist license in the State of Florida before hire.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
