Job Description
Vitalant is hiring newly graduated and experienced Medical Laboratory Scientists to bring skilled technical support to our specialty blood component manufacturing/high complexity testing reference laboratories. What to Expect
Work Schedule: 5:00 pm - 1:30 am Rotating Weekends and Holidays
Hourly Rate: 32.17 - 37.00 DOE
MLS I - 0-1 Years of Exp - 31.17
MLS II 1 - 3 Years of Exp 0 35.89 - 37
Second Shift Differential - 9%
Weekend Shift Differential 8%

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in biology, Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent (must receive MLS certification within 6 months of eligibility)
or Bachelor's degree in approved Science (Biology, Chemistry, etc) and currently possess certification from an accredited agency as MT/MLS
State licensure as required by regulations
Experience 0-2 years of relevant laboratory experience meeting Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist educational requirements
or 5 years or more experience as Medical Laboratory Technician
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in biology, Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent (must receive MLS certification within 6 months of eligibility)

State licensure as required by regulations
Experience 0-2 years of relevant laboratory experience meeting Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist educational requirements
or 5 years or more experience as Medical Laboratory Technician
Skills
Perform high complexity testing in immunohematology, including antibody identification, antigen typing, absorptions, elution, and cross match.
Perform production, processing, and labeling of blood components and blood donations.
Provide technical support to hospital transfusion services.
Review and report test results, participate in investigative studies, participate in quality control, preventative maintenance, and validations.
