Medical Lab Assistant II - Lab - Administration

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor, the Medical Laboratory Assistant II is responsible for a variety of specimen collections on children both inpatients & outpatients, processing tests, referral test analysis preparation & shipping, registration & lab test order entry, hospital/departmental computer procedures, Microbiology specimen processing & departmental instrument maintenance. Working behind the scenes, the MLA II helps to save lives every day!

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma, G.E.D. or Equivalent
• One year of experience
• Phlebotomy certificate

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of experience
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association)
• Prior pediatric experience in phlebotomy, specimen accessioning and processing, patient registration and lab test order entry in a clinical laboratory

Working Conditions

• Minimum Salary Range: $26.51 to $36.89
