About the role
The Jefferson County Public Health Service is seeking a Medical Investigator.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for the grieving and care for the deceased in mortuary science
- Conduct evidence gathering and/or analysis in criminal, medical, clinical laboratory, or insurance investigation cases
- Obtain a national certification with the American Board of Medical Death Investigators (ABMDI)
Requirements
- Master's degree in police forensics, mortuary science, criminal justice, or a health related field
- Bachelor's degree in police forensics, mortuary science, criminal justice, or a health-related field with one year of experience in mortuary science or investigative work in death cases
- Bachelor's degree with a Registered Physician's Assistant certificate and one year of experience as a Physician's Assistant
- An associate's degree in police forensics, mortuary science, criminal justice, or a health related field with three years of experience in mortuary science or investigative work in death cases
- Equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), B), C), and D) above
Qualifications
Appointees will be required to possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State or demonstrate their ability to meet the transportation needs of the job.
