About the role

The Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure (KBML) provides a valuable service of protecting the public from unauthorized practitioners. The agency ensures that only qualified medical and osteopathic physicians are licensed and initiates disciplinary action when violations of the Medical Practice Act occur. We are looking for a Medical Investigator to join our Investigative team and cover the South-Central portion of Kentucky. The ideal candidate may reside in the same area and work from their Home Office. The agency may authorize the selected candidate to telecommute. The agency may terminate or modify the telecommuting arrangement at any time.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations based on grievances filed with the Board
• Maintain detailed findings and prepare report
• Work with multiple state and federal agencies
• Full understanding of the Board's rules and regulations
• Report to Executive Director

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

Experience, Training, or Skills: Three years of investigative experience in the fields of criminal justice/law enforcement or performing investigations of licensed or regulated health care practitioners or performing other medical standards compliance inspections/investigations.

Substitute Education for Experience: NONE

Substitute Experience for Education: Additional experience in one of the above areas will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in an office setting. Statewide travel is required.

Probationary Period: This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 12 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
