About the role
The Medical Instrument Technician (EKG) performs patient electrocardiograms, monitors heart rhythms, and observes oximetry remotely.
Responsibilities
- Operate and troubleshoot ECG and monitoring equipment
- Analyze tracings to identify normal and abnormal heart rhythms
- Promptly notify healthcare staff of critical changes, including activating emergency responses
- Prepare patients and ensure proper equipment setup
- Maintain documentation in electronic health records
- Adhere to safety and confidentiality standards
Requirements
- Proficiency in medical terminology, equipment operation, and patient positioning
- Experience demonstrating increasing knowledge of specialized procedures, patient needs, and equipment adjustments
- Certifications such as Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (desirable)
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to pass background checks and complete onboarding
- Prior related experience
