Responsibilities
- Review established training objectives, lesson plans, training materials, and instructional methods prior to the beginning of assigned courses.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with both clients and coworkers.
- Maintain all required certifications.
- Perform medical instruction/demonstration and student evaluations required by course syllabi and Plan of Instruction (POI).
- Operate and maintain high-fidelity simulation manikins and laboratory.
- Prepare classroom and laboratory for upcoming instruction, including all academic equipment that would be needed.
- Complete required paperwork for individual courses taught for licensing, billing, and filing.
- Create and update curriculum to be offered to clients.
- Provide technical support, planning, consultation, analysis, and expert advice to establish, maintain, and improve instruction.
- Assist with training new instructor candidates.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 21 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of field operations experience (paramedic level preferred).
- 3 years of instructional experience.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move items over 50 pounds.
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills for audiences of all levels.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively as needed.
- Ability to work in both internal and external environments with a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to work with exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and hazards; may require the use of protective personal equipment.
- Basic computer and program knowledge, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
- Valid driver’s license.

- WVOEMS Approved Lead Instructor
- NAEMSE Level I & II Instructor Course or WVDE Instructor Methodology Course
- NAEMT TCCC Instructor
- NAEMT TECC Instructor
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Good physical conditioning and stamina required.
- Able to regularly stand/walk for long periods without sitting, sprint, kneel on the ground, etc.
- Able to withstand hot/cold weather.
