Job Summary

Up to $20,000 sign-on available for qualified candidates.

Essential Functions

  • Documents appropriate information in patients’ charts.
  • Ensures the procedure and related supplies are billed correctly.
  • Presents high quality images to Radiologists.
  • Competently works within required computer programs (i.e. PACs, RIS, Vrad) as well as manual downtime processes.
  • Prepares and administers correct amount of contrast, using aseptic techniques as outlined in the Infection Control manual.
  • Able to start and maintain IV lines.
  • Consistently demonstrates a thorough knowledge to operate all radiological equipment in the proper setting, patient positioning, principles of radiation exposure/ safety, quality control, image processing, specialized protocols and demonstrates the ability to plan own work.
  • Works as a team with other imaging departments to coordinate patient care and flow throughout care environment.
  • Provides a learning environment for the students completing their clinical rotation.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Focuses on patient satisfaction by scheduling appointments promptly and courteously.
  • Obtains accurate information and properly documents on patient scheduling system.
  • Has a positive attitude and customer service mindset.
  • Is friendly, cheerful, and helpful to patients and others.
  • Meets patients and others needs while following office policies and procedures in person and on the telephone.
  • Participates in upkeep of department, i.e., cleanliness of work area, preventive maintenance, stocking of supplies, reports all malfunctioning equipment.
  • Prepares and administers correct amount of contrast, using aseptic techniques as outlined in the Infection Control manual.
  • Documents appropriately in patients' chart.
  • Completed injector training.
  • Reviews patient's condition, history, and physician's order; consults radiologist with any questions.
  • Determines proper positioning, and selects correct patient from work list.
  • Routinely prepares the patient and the equipment for the upcoming procedure.
  • Educates the patient and/or family regarding the procedure to be performed.
  • Provides professional age-specific interaction with patients.

Required Additional Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent, Accredited Radiography Technologist Program, ASRT Certificate - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer.
  • Preferred: ARRT Advanced CT Registry, ARRT Advanced Mammography Certification.
