Medical Imaging Technician III

About the role

A Mammography Technologist responsible for performing specialized breast imaging procedures to assist in diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality screening, diagnostic, and advanced mammography exams, including stereotactic and MRI biopsies.
• Review exam requisitions and ensure accurate patient positioning, protocol selection, and equipment use.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide excellent patient support and service.
• Mentor junior staff and act as a preceptor; coordinate in the absence of lead technologists.
• Ensure departmental adherence to all regulatory standards and participate in accreditation processes.
• Perform radiological procedures on patients of all ages and maintain proficiency in interventional breast imaging.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT-accredited training.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Mammography Technologist.
• Licenses and certifications: ARRT or ARDMS in Radiography and Mammography, BLS certification.

Skills

• Proficiency in mammography procedures, sterile technique, patient positioning, and image evaluation.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and ability to mentor junior staff.
• Ability to operate independently and maintain proficiency in interventional breast imaging.
