About the Role
The CT Technician performs computed tomography imaging, reviews patient history and physician orders, educates patients, prepares and administers contrast media, monitors patient condition, and ensures safety standards. This role requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently, often in stressful situations.
Responsibilities
- Provide imaging services following standards and protocols
- Ensure patient understanding and cooperation
- Prepare, administer contrast media, and monitor patient status
- Maintain equipment safety and quality control
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and analyze image quality
- Report and transmit scan results accurately
- Prepare equipment for procedures
Requirements
- Two-year certificate, Associate, or Baccalaureate degree
- Current Radiation Operator Certificate in North Carolina
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in Radiology
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- One year of DMS experience preferred
- Ability to accept on-call assignments and respond within 30 minutes
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
