About the role

The Medical Imaging Specialist demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served in the department. This role involves applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment, performing radiographic procedures, and producing images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.

• Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics
• May assist the licensed practitioner with the management of non-narcotic medications
• Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential to successful completion of the procedure
• Provides services to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and interprets patient data relative to age-specific needs

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT R)
• Acute care experience preferred
• Current BLS certification
