Medical Imaging AI Developer
MIT Lincoln Laboratory’s Human Health & Performance Systems Group develops human-centered technologies to overcome operational challenges and enhance human capability in domains of national security. Research programs focus on innovative and objective solutions in integrated wearable systems, human-machine teaming, enhanced communications, neurocognitive analytics, and medical technologies. The group is highly interdisciplinary, with scientific experts in physiology, cognitive science, neuroscience, psychology, biomechanics, computer science, engineering, and physics. Core technical competencies include system-level modeling and gap analysis, advanced sensing and signal processing, machine learning and artificial intelligence, computational modeling, hardware and software prototyping, model-based systems engineering, and human data collection in laboratory and field environments.
About the role
Our team is dedicated to developing advanced medical technologies to address critical defense and civilian medical challenges, with a particular focus on improving austere and battlefield medicine. As a member of the team, you will apply cutting-edge signal/image processing, deep learning, and data analysis techniques to develop AI-enabled system prototypes. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, and clinicians to design and evaluate innovative medical imaging devices and human performance technologies. This position offers the opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects that push the boundaries of medical technology, contributing to solutions for pressing challenges in defense and civilian healthcare.
Requirements
- M.S. in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant degree. Applicants with a B.S. and 5 or more years of relevant industry or research experience will also be considered.
- Strong technical expertise in both the theory and practical applications of deep learning model development and deployment on operational systems.
- Expertise in biomedical signal and image processing.
- Proficiency in algorithm development (Python, MATLAB) for extraction, conditioning, and exploration of biomedical datasets.
- Ability to produce clear, concise, and professional project reports, as well as contributions to technical and scientific publications.
Preferences
- Experience in software development and deployment on edge platforms.
- Familiarity with medical ultrasound systems.
Pay
Recent Graduate Hiring Range: $116,400 – $140,000
Experienced Hiring Range: $116,400 – $182,200
