About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in the Medical ICU at Parkridge Medical Center, you will perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. You will utilize therapeutic communication, maintain a safe therapeutic environment, and identify nursing problems related to individual patient needs. You will plan individualized patient care using an interdisciplinary approach, participate in performance improvement activities, and coordinate care that aligns with the hospital's mission and vision. When acting in a charge nurse role, you will oversee day-to-day activities, make staff assignments based on patient need and acuity, serve as a clinical resource, and respond to requests for information or follow-up.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs and carry out physician orders.
- Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition using computerized documentation systems.
- Instruct and educate patients and families as part of a Multidisciplinary Care Planning team.
- Identify nursing problems and plan individualized patient care utilizing an interdisciplinary approach.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse license from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure with the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
- Current BLS certification.
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
- One year of clinical nursing experience preferred.
