Medical & Home Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring Bible reading, Praise and Worship, Class, meals, and snacks
• Cover the front desk: Answer the phone, receive deliveries, welcome guests, prepare Home staff and resident mail, and facilitate questions from residents.
• Avoid the front desk: Assist Education Manager/Transitional Care Liaison with Aftercare/Schoolroom coverage.
• Interact with residents and provide appropriate expectations and mediation if needed.
• Document resident interactions as per Mercy procedure including completing and posting resident database (ETO) Touchpoints.
• Report to supervisor any concerns with resident interactions and deliver Training Opportunities, Consequence, and Affirmations directly to residents with direction from supervisor.
• Oversee process for refilling residents’ prescription medications and over-the-counter pharmaceutical supplies.
• Distribute residents’ medications and record medications accordingly.
• Aid Medical Services Manager with documentation, filings, and other administrative tasks.
• Schedule appointments and provide safe transportation of residents including transportation to resident medical appointments.
• Provide first aid, evaluate all medical complaints, and determine treatment options with Medical Services Manager.
• Notify Program Director and appropriate counselors when medical situations or emergencies arise.
• Aid pregnant residents and minors in obtaining TennCare if uninsured. Schedule appointments.
• Assist with general housekeeping duties.

Requirements

• Education: Must have a high school diploma. Bachelor’s-level degree preferred or experience with similar job functions.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in ministry, mentoring, or teaching required, Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Skills: Knowledge of standard healthcare processes; excellent communication skills (verbal and written); exceptional organizational and time management skills are required. Must be able to set boundaries and work well with people. Must be flexible in handling multiple tasks within the home and adjusting to schedule changes with ease. Must have a thorough understanding of, and dedication to, the vision of Mercy Multiplied along with demonstrated Christian work ethics.
• Eligibility: Must be at least 21 years of age or older.

• Must have Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Pay

$22- $23/hour

Schedule

8:00 am- 5:00 pm Monday-Friday (40 hours/week)
