Medical Equipment Delivery Driver

About the role

Tidewell Hospice, a part of Empath Health, is seeking a detail-oriented DME Technician-Driver to join their DME team in Venice, FL.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and set up medical equipment and supplies
• Instruct patients and caregivers on the proper, safe use of the equipment
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, oxygen manifests, delivery tickets, and all related paperwork and electronic inventory
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as assigned
• Work on-call duty on a rotating basis
• Available to work during weather or other emergency situations, including for other Empath Health DME locations

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One year related experience and/or training preferred
• Valid Florida Driver’s License and qualified driving safety record per insurance requirements
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform strenuous work
• Physical stamina and strength to load, unload, and move medical equipment required
• Background check, fingerprinting, and drug screening required for employment
• Knowledge of streets within designated service areas of Sarasota, Manatee, Desoto, and Charlotte County
• Participate in an on-call rotation, weekends, and holidays as assigned
• Flexibility and availability to meet patient needs
• Available to work during weather-related and other emergencies
