Position Summary
Under the direct administrative supervision of the Health Services Administrator and clinical supervision of the Corporate Medical Director (CMD)/Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the Medical Director is responsible for ensuring company goals and objectives are achieved by leading, directing, managing, and evaluating medical services to meet contractual obligations and client expectations. This role ensures all medical services comply with NCCHC, ACA, and professional medical standards and holds final authority for clinical decisions at the facility.
Responsibilities
- Lead, direct, manage, and evaluate medical services in assigned service delivery area.
- Ensure compliance with NCCHC, ACA, and professional medical standards.
- Serve as the final authority for clinical decisions at the facility.
Requirements
- Current unrestricted license as a physician in the state of employment.
- Current DEA registration; ability to obtain a DEA “X” number (as applicable).
- Valid CPR card.
- Board certification recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in primary care with administrative experience in corrections and/or managed health care delivery preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Physical and mental capacity to work in a less-than-pristine environment and manage stressful situations.
Pay
$180.00 per hour
Schedule
Part-time, 8 hours per week (1099 Contractor)
Work Location
In person at Whatcom County Jail.
Accountable to: Health Services Administrator (HSA) and Corporate Medical Director (CMD)/Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
