About the role

The Medical Director role at our largest, newest, and most fully equipped hospital offers:

  • Average of 18 appointments per day on clinical days, with 1-2 surgery days per week.
  • Mixed general practice with dedicated urgent care.
  • Set the standard of medicine for the hospital, mentor junior doctors and techs, and contribute to protocols across all three ArkVets locations.
  • Partner directly with ownership on how the practice grows.

Responsibilities

On the practice side:

  • Treat around 18 patients daily on clinical days.
  • Perform up to 2 surgeries per week based on personal preference.
  • Lead the hospital's clinical and administrative operations.
  • Contribute to hospital-wide protocols and practices.
  • Work closely with ownership to shape the practice's future.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must:

  • Have an Arizona veterinary license in good standing prior to start date.
  • Have at least 3 years of practice experience.
  • Prior leadership, mentorship, or medical-director experience is a plus.
  • Be available between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., with some weekends and holidays.
