Medical Director - Psychiatrist

About the role

We are seeking a Medical Director- Psychiatrist to provide clinical leadership and exceptional patient care in a behavioral healthcare facility specializing in dual diagnosis treatment.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct patient care, including assessments, detox management, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and addiction medicine services.
• Overseeing medical staff, ensuring adherence to evidence-based protocols and compliance standards.
• Collaborating with leadership to develop policies, quality improvement initiatives, and maintain regulatory readiness.
• Monitoring medical metrics such as compliance, documentation quality, treatment outcomes, and readmission rates.
• Supporting staff development, performance improvement, and ensuring timely documentation in electronic health records.
• Participating in on-call duties, providing backup and emergency response when needed.
• Providing administrative oversight and building collaborative teams.
• Ensuring clinical excellence, documentation accuracy, and compliance with standards.
• Developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and quality improvement plans.
• Supporting performance metrics and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited medical school and licensed to practice medicine (MD or DO).
• Board Certification in Psychiatry; ABPM-Addiction Medicine preferred.
• Experience in addiction medicine and a minimum of 3 years in supervisory roles.
• Familiarity with Joint Commission, ASAM criteria, and healthcare standards.
• DEA license and training in Buprenorphine prescribing.
