About the Role

The Medical Director Psychiatrist at Southcentral Foundation (SCF) is responsible for providing direct clinical patient care. This position collaborates with other clinical staff to establish medical protocols and treatment regimens.

SCF programs primarily serve Alaska Native people affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and needs of this population to support SCF’s vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical patient care.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to establish medical protocols and treatment regimens.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree required.
  • Licensed as a Physician in the State of Alaska.
  • Current American Board certification in a specialty appropriate for the service.
  • Meets all requirements for associate medical staff membership and required privileges of service.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Additional certifications (ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, PALS) as required for specialty and scope of practice.
  • Two (2) years of post-residency experience as a physician or demonstrated proficiency as a physician at SCF.

Employee Health Requirements

Compliance with SCF’s Employee Health Procedure is mandatory. For Health Care Personnel (HCP) positions, documentation of the following immunizations is required prior to the first day of employment:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella)
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Influenza
  • T-dap (Tetanus - Diphtheria - Pertussis)
  • COVID-19 vaccination
