About the role

Newport Healthcare is seeking a Medical Director Psychiatrist for the St. Cloud & Wright Co., MN Residential Treatment Programs for Adolescents & Young Adults. This role encompasses clinical and leadership responsibilities. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Director of Psychiatry assists in providing oversight of the Psychiatry team as well as manages a caseload, executing initial psychiatric evaluations for new residents with mental or emotional problems and offering counseling and psychotherapy to clients in distress.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a dedicated mental health team to oversee psychiatric care for all residents.
• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations within 48 hours of admission.
• Attend to residents requiring psychiatric assistance during treatment.
• Facilitate staff training on key psychiatric issues and standards.
• Liaise with the Medical Director, Clinical Director, and outreach teams to build relationships with hospitals.
• Manage a caseload and document patient encounters through progress notes and EMR.
• Provide support for patient admissions, including initial evaluations.

Requirements

• MD/DO degree required.

Pay

$350,000–$425,000 per year.
