Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic clinical leadership and direction for physicians and advanced practice clinicians
  • Oversee delivery of high‑quality, person‑centered care within post‑acute and long‑term care settings
  • Collaborate with nursing and facility leadership to develop and implement care plans, policies and quality improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and facility regulations and standards of care
  • Lead clinical education, mentorship and performance review activities for medical staff
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case review and family conferences as required
  • Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for accurate documentation, data review and clinical decision‑making

Qualifications and Required Skills

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Geriatric Medicine preferred
  • Active and unrestricted Virginia medical license and current DEA registration
  • Proven experience in a leadership or medical director role within post‑acute, long‑term care or similar healthcare settings preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient‑centered care and continuous quality improvement
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems and clinical documentation
