Medical Director physician job in Alabama : Medical Director ' Internal Medicine | Mobile, AL | $400K+ Potential | Flexible Schedule Medrina is a large, physician-owned, multi-specialty medical group that has been a national leader for over 15 years. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Director ' Internal Medicine to join our team in the Mobile, AL market. This is an excellent opportunity for a physiatrist who enjoys providing high-quality rehabilitation and pain management while taking on a leadership role within the post-acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have experience managing medically complex adult and geriatric patients with musculoskeletal, neurologic, and functional impairments. This role provides clinical oversight, collaborates with advanced practice providers, and helps ensure exceptional patient care within Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs). The Medical Director will oversee patient care, support APP providers, collaborate with facility teams, and serve as a clinical leader within the market while helping patients maximize function, mobility, independence, and quality of life. Opportunity Highlights Medical Director role with additional leadership stipendMonday-Friday (5 days a week) scheduleNo weekendsPhysician-owned private practice modelWork-life balance with autonomy and flexibilityNP/APP support with potential profit-sharing opportunitiesAPP supervision opportunities available with additional stipendsCompetitive compensation with potential to earn $400K+ (based on current physician earnings) Responsibilities Provide medical oversight and leadership for assigned Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs).Perform comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized rehabilitation treatment plansDiagnose and manage musculoskeletal, neurologic, orthopedic, and chronic pain conditionsEvaluate and treat patients recovering from stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, fractures, joint replacement, deconditioning, and other disabling conditionsProvide rehabilitation and pain management consultations, including trigger point injections and joint injections (where applicable)Monitor patient progress and modify rehabilitation plans to optimize functional outcomesCollaborate with nurse practitioners, therapists, nursing staff, specialists, and interdisciplinary rehabilitation teamsReview and support APP clinical decision-making and patient managementPromote evidence-based rehabilitation practices and quality improvement initiativesMaintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)Communicate effectively with patients, families, facility partners, and healthcare teams Preferred Experience Physician with experience in Internal MedicineHospital Affiliations (preferred)Experience managing adult and geriatric rehabilitation patientsComfortable working in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) settingsExperience treating musculoskeletal disorders, chronic pain, stroke recovery, orthopedic rehabilitation, neurologic rehabilitation, and functional impairmentsExperience performing joint injections, trigger point injections, and other office-based procedures preferredStrong clinical judgment and leadership abilitiesExcellent communication and collaboration skillsPassion for improving function, mobility, independence, and quality of life Required Qualifications MD or DO degreeBoard-certified or board-eligible in Internal MedicineActive medical license in AlabamaActive DEA licenseMinimum of one (1) year of clinical experience preferredAbility to work collaboratively with physicians, APPs, therapists, and facility partners Benefits Competitive salary with $400K+ earning potentialMedical Director stipendAPP supervision opportunities with additional compensationProfit-sharing opportunitiesFlexible scheduleNo call/no weekendsPhysician-owned practice environmentOpportunities for professional growth and leadershipSupportive clinical and administrative team Physical Requirements:' Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting while working with patients as well as working on a computer.'Must be able tolift upto 50 pounds.'May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, physical hazards (e.g., needle pricks, etc.) and chemical hazards.'Must wear the required PPE per company and/or facility requirement.'Mustcomply withfacility vaccination requirements.
