What You’ll Do

Join Our Team as a Medical Director for Oncology.

Responsibilities

  • ePRO Program Leadership: Own and drive the evolution of our ePRO program, ensuring measurable outcomes for our members. Guide program design and iteration, establish and refine clinical thresholds and escalation pathways, enable staff training, and track key performance indicators. Work closely with technology and product teams to ensure ePRO tools reflect current clinical evidence and meet member needs.
  • Frontline Care Team Support and Clinical Collaboration: Serve as a clinical resource for our frontline care team, providing education, guidance, and direct collaboration. Participate in case conferences, offer oncology expertise for complex or escalated clinical situations, and partner with Oncology Nurse Navigators and Community Health Workers on challenging cases. Contribute to care team education through structured training sessions, clinical updates, and ongoing feedback. Help our team stay current on evolving oncology standards and ensure clinical practices are grounded in evidence and aligned with member needs. Engage in virtual visits with members.
  • Special Projects and Strategic Initiatives: Lead and contribute to strategic initiatives across the organization. Develop and maintain clinical protocols, help members access clinical trials, and represent Thyme Care in external meetings with payers, health systems, and other partners. Contribute to Thyme Care's clinical positioning on oncology issues. Support the development of clinical content, policy positions, and responses to external clinical questions.

  • Experience: At least 3 years of clinical experience caring for oncology patients after fellowship training with board certification in medical oncology. Experience with ePRO implementation, iteration, and reporting is preferred.

  • Effective Listener and Communicator: Decisive and articulate, but always start by listening, building rapport, and excellent working relationships with members and colleagues.
  • Comfort with Ambiguity: Understands rapid changes in the business, strategy, organization, and priorities.
  • A Desire to Learn: Comfortable with new technologies such as video chatting, Google Suite, Slack, electronic health records, or willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Prioritize and Take Action: Identify and prioritize member needs and take necessary actions to address urgent needs.

Salary Range

The salary range for this role, if filled within New York City, is $246,500 - $290,000. Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity relative to other Thyme Care employees.
