About the role

We are an agency committed to innovative behavioral health services in trauma-informed care that promote healing and recovery to instill a sense of empowerment and foster a lifelong sense of resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
  • Maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
  • Maintains active role as advisor to Medical Director with regards to division activities to ensure constant flow of information.
  • Ensures medical practice risk is effectively managed;
  • Directs individual and center-wide provider selection, placement and professional development;
  • Mentors and appropriately manages provider performance.
  • Provides direct patient care on a scheduled basis as applicable and appropriate.
  • Participates in the activities of quality assurance; pharmacy, infection control and safety programs;
  • Creates a high-quality work culture through participation in, and emphasis on training and mentoring to develop leadership, management, and technical skills in self and all employees, including safety related training and skills.
  • Provides medical guidance and support to all team members, including but not limited to medical and nursing personnel.
  • Maintains compliance with all Joint Commission and CLIA training requirements relevant to job duties, including but not limited to those dealing with use of restraints and physical holding of individuals receiving services.

Requirements

  • Requires degree from an accredited Medical School and hold a Doctorate in Medicine or Osteopathy with an unrestricted license to proactive medicine in the State of Texas supplemented by nine (9) years of progressive clinical practice in a primary care of which three (3) years must be in a leadership role over medical operations; or possession of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Experience with trauma-informed services; cognitive behavioral therapies, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); and motivational therapies including the use of incentives, preferred.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of trauma-informed theories, principals, and practices (includes multi-faceted understanding of concepts such as community trauma, intergenerational and historical trauma, parallel processes, and universal precautions), preferred.
