About the role
West Virginia University Health System (SMG) seeks a Hospitalist, Medical Director. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Charleston, WV.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of the Thomas Memorial Hospital (TMH) Hospitalist Program
- Ensuring patients receive the highest quality treatment
- Making recommendations for staffing related to the appropriate delivery of clinical care
- Providing efficient consultation services for TMH patients
- Streamlining clinical processes
- Maintaining appropriate clinical treatment protocols
- Maintaining high levels of patient satisfaction and patient safety
- Ensuring compliance with quality metrics established by WVUHS
- Working closely with physicians, administration, nursing, and technical staff to maintain excellent clinical care/operations
- Organizing the development of new clinical programs and innovations
- Continuously providing the latest clinical technologies and service
Requirements
- MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
- Eligible to obtain a West Virginia medical license
- Completed Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program
- Board certified / eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
