Medical Director-Hospice-Grand Haven

About the Role

The Hospice Medical Director will be responsible for the overall medical direction of patient and family services. The Hospice Medical Director will work with the Executive Director, Director of Clinical Services, and Hospice Supervisors to plan and evaluate clinical services. Serve on the Executive Team at the program level, support Provider Relations activities, and provide input to the CPI Committee. Assume a leadership role on the QAPI Committee.

Responsibilities

• Serve on the Executive Team and contribute to strategic initiatives
• Support Provider Relations activities and provide input to the CPI Committee
• Lead the QAPI Committee

Requirements

• A physician (M.D. or D.O.) licensed to practice medicine in the state of Michigan
• Valid driver’s license and access to a functional automobile for patient visits
• Board Certification in Hospice & Palliative Medicine or commitment to obtain within 4 years of hire
• Credentialing at one or more hospitals serving the hospice service area or commitment to obtain

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, evaluate, and analyze nursing aspects of patient/family care
• Experience leading person-centered care, including psychosocial, spiritual, and multicultural domains
• Strong verbal, written, and word-processing communication skills
• Ability to manage time, meet scheduling targets, and function autonomously
• Experience working collaboratively with an Interdisciplinary team
