Medical Director, Genetic Medicines

For our client, we are seeking a Medical Director, Genetic Medicines to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will provide medical leadership across gene therapy and rare disease programs, with a focus on aligning clinical strategy from discovery through execution. The Medical Director will partner closely with research, clinical, and external scientific stakeholders to advance development plans and support evidence generation. This is a highly cross-functional position that will help ensure scientific rigor, patient safety, and strong communication across the clinical organization. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $217,500 – $389,400 annually Responsibilities Collaborate with Discovery teams to align clinical strategies and plans Review and approve the scientific content of clinical documents Participate in the design and execution of clinical trials Monitor patient safety and address adverse events according to regulations Engage with external experts and the healthcare community for scientific dissemination Qualifications Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy required; board certified or board eligible 3-5 years of experience in clinical research, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry Strong understanding of gene therapy, rare diseases, and drug development processes Proficiency in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams Benefits Opportunity to contribute to innovative gene therapy development Collaborative work environment within a leading pharmaceutical organization Exposure to early-phase and late-phase clinical operations Comprehensive training and professional development programs Participation in a dynamic team focused on breakthrough medical solutions Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
