About the role
The Medical Director for the Community Health Aide Program (CHAP) at Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) in Anchorage, Alaska, plays a pivotal role in shaping workforce development, clinical excellence, and educational quality.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic initiatives to align workforce capabilities with organizational goals, program priorities, and statewide standards.
- Serve as the collaborating physician for CHAP instructors and APPs, ensuring clinical competency through chart reviews, case consultations, and professional oversight.
- Provide leadership in instruction, quality assurance, curriculum development, and competency systems design to support both classroom and virtual learning environments.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Family Medicine or relevant specialty.
- Experience in healthcare administration and/or clinical leadership.
- Strong commitment to Alaska Native and American Indian health and cultural competency.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Proven track record of success in clinical practice and leadership roles.
