Medical Director - Clinical Advocacy and Support - Remote West Coast preferred

For our client, we are seeking a Medical Director - Clinical Advocacy and Support - Remote West Coast preferred to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This role will provide physician leadership for clinical coverage reviews and benefit determinations in a remote setting, with preference for candidates on the West Coast. The position is focused on applying evidence-based medicine to interpret plan language, support timely decisions, and ensure clinical reviews are documented accurately and in compliance with applicable regulations. This leader will also partner closely with requesting providers and internal teams to improve clinical processes and support consistent member-centered outcomes. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $248,500 – $373,000 annually Responsibilities Conduct coverage reviews according to member benefits and policies Document clinical findings in compliance with regulations Engage in peer-to-peer discussions with requesting providers Interpret benefit language during clinical reviews Collaborate with providers for timely benefit determinations Work with internal departments for improved clinical processes Participate in call coverage rotation Qualifications M.D. or D.O. required Active unrestricted medical license Board certified in an ABMS specialty, preferably Internal or Family Medicine 3+ years of clinical practice experience post-residency Strong understanding of Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel Benefits Comprehensive benefits package Incentive and recognition programs Equity stock purchase option 401k contribution Flexible remote work options Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
