Join us as a Medical Director at VCA Hamilton Animal Hospital and you’ll be supported by world-class medicine, technology, facilities, and a talented team. In this leadership role, you will oversee medical quality and patient care, contribute to the hospital’s financial success, and help set its strategic direction. Approximately 30% of your time will be dedicated to leadership responsibilities, with the remaining 70% focused on clinical duties as a staff veterinarian.

About the Hospital

VCA Hamilton Animal Hospital offers a small-town, hometown-care atmosphere with nearby hiking trails, natural scenery, and plenty to explore. The hospital is equipped with hands-free radiology, cautery, and dental radiographs, and is Fear-Free accredited or employs Fear-Free Certified associates when possible. It is also AAHA accredited and encourages students and new graduates to apply with dedicated mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the medical quality and patient care provided by all doctors within the hospital.
  • Serve as part of the hospital’s management team, contributing to its overall financial success.
  • Set and drive the hospital’s strategic direction to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Dedicate approximately 30% of your time to leadership responsibilities and 70% to clinical duties as a staff veterinarian.
  • Work with cases involving cats and dogs.

Qualifications

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university or equivalent.
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in NY, or the ability to obtain it.
  • A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $145,000 - $160,000, dependent on experience. Salary is negotiable based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and other relevant credentials. This position may also be eligible for other variable pay programs.

Schedule

Full-time position with current hours of operation: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:30 am – 5:00 pm.
