Medical Director

About the role

A Medical Director at VCA Animal Hospitals Urgent Care – Sugar House will lead the medical quality and direction of the hospital. You will be supported by a talented team and experts in various departments to ensure success.

Responsibilities

• Empowerment to practice medicine and establish the direction of the hospital
• Full-time schedule with 4 shifts and rotating weekends
• Treatment of common pet concerns such as allergic reactions, diarrhea, eye issues, fleas/ticks/mites, derm, wounds/lacerations, lethargy, loss of appetite, pain or limping, respiratory disease, toxin ingestion, and urinary issues
• Collaboration with a team of like-minded colleagues
• Opportunities for professional development and participation in clinical studies

Requirements

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university or equivalent
• Licensure in good standing to practice in Utah or the ability to obtain
• A commitment to practicing high standards of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
