Position Overview

The Medical Director of Primary Care Services at Providence Community Health Centers (PCHC) is a pivotal role in shaping the future of community healthcare. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, this leader guides clinicians to deliver high-quality, safe, and effective healthcare across the health center network.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor teams of physicians and clinicians across PCHC’s primary care locations in Providence

• Develop and implement clinical strategies that align with PCHC's mission and goals

• Oversee quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes

• Collaborate with Chief Medical Officer on organizational strategy and growth

• Drive clinical program development and redesign based on data analysis

• Provide some direct clinical care

Qualifications

• Board Certified Primary Care Physician (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or similar primary care emphasis)

• Current MD/DO license in Rhode Island

• Three years of progressive experience in a physician leadership role

• Five years of clinical experience

• Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership roles, coaching and developing physicians

• Experience using metrics-driven approaches to analyze healthcare data and drive clinical strategy

• Ability to maintain hospital privileges in accordance with PCHC policies

• Commitment to ongoing professional education and certification as required
