The Medical Director is both a strategic leader and an operational partner, responsible for overseeing clinical care delivery across multiple service lines, including primary care, behavioral health, dental, and mobile health services. Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Quality
Oversight of all clinical service lines, including primary care, behavioral health, dental, and mobile health services
Ensuring delivery of high-quality, patient-centered, and trauma-informed care
Leading quality improvement initiatives and monitoring clinical performance outcomes
Promoting a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvementTeam Leadership & Development
Supervision of clinical directors and medical providers across disciplines
Mentoring and developing clinical leaders, strengthening leadership capacity across teams
Setting clear expectations and supporting staff in achieving performance goals
Fostering a collaborative, accountable, and mission-driven team environmentStrategic & Operational Leadership
Translation of organizational strategy into clinical and operational priorities
Partnering closely with the Senior Director of Operations to align clinical and operational functions
Identifying opportunities to expand services, improve access, and strengthen care delivery models
Supporting program development and service innovationRegulatory Compliance & Risk Management
Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, including HRSA and FTCA standards
Overseeing clinical policies, procedures, and documentation practices
Monitoring clinical risk and ensuring safe, consistent care delivery
Maintaining readiness for audits and regulatory reviewsFinancial & Resource Stewardship
Monitoring productivity, utilization, and clinical performance metrics
Supporting responsible resource allocation, including staffing and supplies
Partnering with leadership on budgeting and financial planning
Balancing quality care delivery with financial sustainabilityCollaboration & Organizational Leadership
Serving as a member of the Senior Management Team
Partnering across departments including operations, nursing, finance, HR, and quality
Collaborating with program leaders across housing, outreach, and supportive services
Representing Healthcare Services within the broader organizationPatient Care & Clinical Presence
Maintaining visibility across clinical sites
Providing direct patient care as needed
Supporting teams in real-time problem solving and care delivery
Leading by example in delivering compassionate, mission-driven care
Requirements
Currently licensed Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy in Pennsylvania
Board Certified in Family Medicine
Minimum three years' experience in an established leadership capacity in an organization providing medical and/or behavioral health services
Demonstrated leadership ability to create effective teams, provide and communicate vision, and effectively manage change
Collaborative, strategic leader able to align clinical operations with organizational goals and support team development
Must meet Project HOME's privileged requirements as required by the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA)
Current CPR certification or obtain within one month if not current
Pass Project HOME's criminal and child abuse background checks
Must possess a current driver's license
Qualifications
Experience in an integrated or mission-driven healthcare setting, overseeing multi-site, multidisciplinary providers
Experience in providing services regarding health equity, trauma-informed care, and serving people experiencing homelessness or other underserved populations
Familiarity with HRSA-funded programs or FQHC environments
