About the role

Animal Medical Center of Deer Valley (AMC Deer Valley) is seeking a Managing Veterinarian to provide medical leadership and guide the hospital as it moves into its next chapter.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of medical and surgical cases
  • Establish, uphold, and evolve medical protocols and standards of care
  • Support continuity of care across doctors
  • Guide diagnostics, treatment planning, and client communication
  • Ensure the hospital remains inspection-ready at all times
  • Mentor and support associate veterinarians
  • Aid with recruiting, interviewing, and performance development
  • Partner with leadership on training, CE tracking, and licensure
  • Promote a respectful, team-first culture
  • Support efficient workflows and operational improvements
  • Encourage client education, compliance, and patient visits
  • Participate in hospital initiatives and community engagement
  • Help guide the practice through an upcoming leadership transition

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A DVM/VMD from an accredited veterinary school
  • An active Arizona license (or ability to obtain)
  • 5+ years of clinical experience
  • Previous leadership or management experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A passion for mentorship, collaboration, and culture-building
  • A commitment to practicing high-quality, ethical veterinary medicine

  • Knowledge of veterinary practices and procedures

Pay

$140,000–$160,000 (depending on experience)
