About the role
Animal Medical Center of Deer Valley (AMC Deer Valley) is seeking a Managing Veterinarian to provide medical leadership and guide the hospital as it moves into its next chapter.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of medical and surgical cases
- Establish, uphold, and evolve medical protocols and standards of care
- Support continuity of care across doctors
- Guide diagnostics, treatment planning, and client communication
- Ensure the hospital remains inspection-ready at all times
- Mentor and support associate veterinarians
- Aid with recruiting, interviewing, and performance development
- Partner with leadership on training, CE tracking, and licensure
- Promote a respectful, team-first culture
- Support efficient workflows and operational improvements
- Encourage client education, compliance, and patient visits
- Participate in hospital initiatives and community engagement
- Help guide the practice through an upcoming leadership transition
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- A DVM/VMD from an accredited veterinary school
- An active Arizona license (or ability to obtain)
- 5+ years of clinical experience
- Previous leadership or management experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A passion for mentorship, collaboration, and culture-building
- A commitment to practicing high-quality, ethical veterinary medicine
